CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Indians snagged Game 2 of the ALCS, 2-1, for a 2-0 series lead over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Here's a recap of what happened, highlighted by dominant pitching performances from starter Josh Tomlin and the Indians' bullpen.
6:53 p.m.: Troy Tulowitzki flies out to center to end the game. The Indians win, 2-1, to take a 2-0 lead in the ALCS.
6:46 p.m.: Cody Allen gets the call to pitch the ninth inning. He strikes out Edwin Encarnacion looking for the first out and gets Jose Bautista swinging for the second out.
6:37 p.m.: Andrew Miller strikes out Josh Donaldson to end the top of the eighth inning, marking 10 strikeouts for the 12 hitters he's faced during the postseason.
6:14: Andrew Miller replaces Shaw to start the seventh inning. He strikes out the side, all swinging.
5:59: Bryan Shaw replaces Tomlin with two out in the sixth inning.
5:39 p.m.: Lonnie Chisenhall leads off the bottom half of fifth with a single to right. Davis' speed pays off again as he beats the throw to first on a double-play ball. Toronto pitcher J.A. Happ throws the ball away on a pick-off attempt, allowing Davis to advance to second but Kipnis grounds out to end the inning.
5:35 p.m.: With a Carrera strikeout to end the top of the fifth, Tomlin strikes out five of seven batters, retiring seven straight.
5:05 p.m.: Roberto Perez draws a lead-off walk, but is eliminated at second on a Rajai Davis groundout. Davis beats the throw to first to avoid the double play. Davis swipes second and takes third when a pitch gets away from Toronto catcher Russell Martin. Francisco Lindor comes through with an RBI single to give Cleveland the 2-1 lead.
4:47 p.m.: Darwin Barney knocks a one-out single to center in the third inning. With two out, Josh Donaldson doubles to plate Barney to even the score, 1-1.
4:36 p.m.: Cleveland takes a 1-0 lead on a Carlos Santana solo home run to left in the second inning.
4:29 p.m.: Francisco Lindor makes a Vizquel-esque grab to his right to get Jose Bautista at first. Russell Martin manages a two-out single for the Blue Jays' first hit of the game in the second inning. Tomlin recovers to strike Michael Saunders out looking.
4:19 p.m.: Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor collects the first hit of the game, a ground ball single up the middle with two out in the first inning.
4:14 p.m.: Josh Tomlin begins the first with a 1-2-3 inning, all groundouts.
