CLEVELAND - When you truly love something, you'll go to great lengths to find it.
That's the case for Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis and his beloved shin guard.
According to an Instagram post, Kipnis has lost the white Easton brand shin guard he wears while hitting. And he can't simply buy a replacement, because Easton no longer makes that particular shin guard in white.
So, Kipnis has made a plea to the internet in case anyone happens to have one.
Resorting to some last options here... but have worn this model shin guard since college and it's gone missing! @eastonbaseball doesn't even make the white one anymore so I'm wondering if there's anybody out there that has one of these hanging around and wants to send it to me in return for some tickets or memorabilia! I can get you some @lindor12bc signed gear!!! 🤣. If you have one, DM a pic of proof and we'll talk!! It's gotta be the white one!!
If anyone should have the shin guard in question, Kipnis is offering up Francisco Lindor's autograph.
Not a bad trade at all.
UPDATE: The missing shin guard was found on Friday afternoon! Here's Kipnis' update via Twitter:
