CLEVELAND -- Sad news from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Channing Frye’s father died on Thanksgiving, which is why the team has excused him from Friday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
“His future game status will be updated as appropriate,” the team said in a news release late Friday morning.
The team also offered their “condolences and support to Channing and his family during this very difficult time.”
