The Cavs finished the season with a 29-point win over the Nets who rested their starters. The Nets are in the playoffs, the Cavs are not.
That was my prediction back on October 1. No playoffs, no chance. Yet this team was cocky talking about playoffs and Jarrett Jack even talked about the NBA Finals.
If this team had only played with that attitude. Instead, no effort and no heart.
You don't have to be the most talented team to make the playoffs in the East. Kentucky could play with some of these teams, but you need effort and heart.
I'm not blaming Mike Brown for this year. I believe the coach came in here with his system, tried to get these guys to play defense and they didn't listen. They wanted to do it their way. That led to fights and misery in the locker room. And if you're not on the same page there, you won't be on the court.
One viewer summed it up perfectly when he tweeted me and said the Cavs have become Sacramento. Yep, Sacramento. The team just exists until mid-April, and then poof, the season is over.
Right now I have no reason to believe the Cavs will be in the playoffs next year. How are things looking in Sacramento?
