President Obama honoring Cleveland Cavaliers at the White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Barack Obama will honor the Cleveland Cavaliers for winning their NBA Championship title!

Just after 2 p.m. Thursday Nov. 10, President Obama will welcome the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers to the White House.

It is the team's first NBA Championship and the first major sports title for the city of Cleveland since 1964.

This visit will continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities.

Know that President Obama extended the invitation last June during a phone call to Coach Tyronn Lue, after the Cavaliers won the 2016 NBA title by defeating the Golden State Warriors.
