WKYC TV-3 will again serve as the television home of the Cleveland Browns' preseason games.
WKYC will air three of the four games this season, and the fourth, a Monday night affair at the Washington Redskins on Aug. 18, will be featured on ESPN's Monday Night Football package of games.
"Once again we look forward to continuing our tradition of broadcasting Cleveland Browns preseason football," Brooke Spectorsky, president and general manager of WKYC-TV, said in a release.
Browns president Alec Scheiner added, "We look forward to again having WKYC as our preseason broadcast partner."
The Browns' preseason will get underway Saturday, Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, and will continue with the game in Washington on the 18th.
The Browns' final two preseason games will be played at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 23, against the St. Louis Rams at 8 p.m., and Thursday, Aug. 28, against the Chicago Bears, also at 8 p.m.
The Browns' primetime game against Washington is their first on ESPN in the preseason since Aug. 18, 2008, when they travelled to play the New York Giants. Overall, the Browns are 3-8 in preseason games against the Redskins, but 3-3 at Washington. Their last preseason meeting came in 2001, a game in which Washington won, 27-25, at home.
Last preseason, the Browns played three of those same opponents, the Lions, Rams and Bears. The Browns earned victories in all three of those games, including home contests against the Rams and Lions.
The Browns, who have won two straight exhibition games against Detroit, and have played the Lions more than any other NFL team in the postseason. They are 20-23-1 in those 44 meetings, but in true road games against the Lions, the Browns are 10-17-1.
For the 11th straight season, the Browns and Bears will end the postseason against each other. With last season's come-from-behind victory in the final minutes at Soldier Field, the Browns are 17-12 against the Bears in the preseason, with nine of those wins coming in Cleveland.
