Whether it was a Mitsubishi Evo or a Toyota Supra, Paul Walker will be remembered not only for his work as an actor, but the cars he drove in the Fast and Furious film franchise.
It is only the more ironic that he would die in a Porsche sports car that crashed and burst into flames Saturday in Santa Clarita, Calif. He was only 40, and the Fast and Furious films had become more popular than ever.

MORE: Paul Walker's legacy
Walker's character, ex-cop Brian O'Connor, in the F&F films almost always was seen driving imports, usually Japanese, in stark contrast to the big American metal always in the hands of co-star Vin Diesel. Besides the Mitsu Lancer Evolution and Supra, Walker showed up in other hot cars like a Nissan Skyline GT-R.
It made sense. Walker played the handsome lead in contrast to Diesel's gruff muscleman character. A sleek guy gets a sleek car — and Diesel gets heavy metal.
Walker remained sleek to the end.
