Looking for a good movie this weekend? Here are the six latest releases and reviews from our movie critics Claudia Puig and Scott Bowles.

Hercules

Hercules, which stands miles above this year's The Legend of Hercules, is more about flexing brawn with just a dash of brain. And given the rash of bland sword-and-sandal flicks, a dash might be just the trick. (*** out of four stars)

The mythical Greek hero, Hercules whom was betrayed by his stepfather and sold into slavery because of a forbidden love must fight his way back to his rightful kingdom. VPC

Lucy

Lucy is a stylish action thriller – equal parts dazzling and ludicrous. It's tough not to be dazzled by this operatic action film's blend of pop-philosophy, biology and silly delirium. (*** out of four stars)

Scarlett Johansson plays Lucy, a woman forced to become a drug mule against her will. When the drugs leak inside her, she is transformed into a superhuman warrior with unprecedented mental powers and a taste for vengeance. VPC

And So It Goes

The romantic comedy starring Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton plays a little like the graying lounge act it honors: It's impressive for its age, though not altogether impressive. There are some solid laughs, but it the story just feels awfully familiar. (** out of four stars)

Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton star in 'And So It Goes.' A self-centered realtor hires the help of his neighbor when suddenly he is left with the task of raising the granddaughter he never knew existed. VPC

I, Origins

The low-tech sci-fi flick presents itself as an exploration of where science ends and spirituality picks up. It blends elements of a thriller with a love story in inventive, unconventional ways. (***½ out of four stars)

Michael Plitt stars in 'I, Origins' as a molecular biologist. He uncovers evidence that may fundamentally change society. VPC

Happy Christmas

Writer-director Joe Swanberg's latest effort, Happy Christmas, is a gently funny ensemble comedy that feels less like a movie than a short story (* * * ½ out of four stars).

When Anna Kendrick, starring as Jenny goes through a break up she decides to move in with her brother, his wife and their two-year-old son. After a rocky start she then realizes what is important in life. VPC

A Most Wanted Man

As one of Phillip Seymour Hoffman's last starring roles, A Most Wanted Man is a low-key, brooding and engrossing espionage thriller that shows the actor's late acting chops. (*** out of four stars)

Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a German intelligence expert, who is willing to do anything for national security, in 'A Most Wanted Man,' one of the late actor's final films. VPC
