CHARDON -- The local chapter for Project Linus is reaching out to those touched by the tragedy in last week's school shooting in Chardon.

This Friday, the local chapter for Project Linus will deliver quilts to students at Chardon High School.

Mary Ellen Bramwell, the coordinator for Project Linus here at home is calling on other coordinators around the country to send quilts to Chardon. We're told that Bramwell has around 800 quilts to distribute at Chardon High School tomorrow. Bramwell coordinated with Sedlak furniture in Solon to store the quilts.

This is the coordinator's second time reaching out to local students. During the Success Tech Academy shooting, Bramwell also distributed quilts to students during that difficult time.

Project Linus is named after Charles Schulz's Linus character from the Peanuts comic strip. Just as he was comforted by his blanket, Project Linus tries to help give that same comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, and in need.
