CLEVELAND -- Police say a suspicious bag found at the Cleveland library downtown turned out to be harmless.

The bomb squad came in to investigate the package found at the Cleveland Public Library on Superior Avenue and determined there was not a threat.

A spokeswoman at the library says a patron noticed someone leave the duffel bag unattended and reported it to staff.

The library was evacuated as a precaution while police investigated.

The library reopened to the public at 1:45 p.m.
