MARGARETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Fire crews from at least two different municipalities battled a fire on U.S. Route 6 in Margaretta Township late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Department of Transportation were called out to the area to close Route 6 (Lima Sandusky Road) between the north and southparts of State Route 269 (Martins Point Road and Prairie Road) shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The stretch of road has since been reopened.

Fire crews from Sandusky and Margaretta Township responded to the fire, along with Erie County Sheriff's deputies.

There is no word on the extent of the damage.

No injuries have been reported.
