CLEVELAND -- A fire destroyed the back of a house on Colfax Road near East 69th Street in Cleveland early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out just after 2:30 a.m.

The house is abandoned and firefighters had the fire under control within a half hour of arriving at the scene.

Fire crews said metal protectors on the windows of the home made it more difficult to fight this fire.

The home had been in foreclosure until very recently when the owner put those security protectors on the windows.

Fire investigators are investigating this fire as an arson.
