CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Animal Protective League, in partnership with nine other Northeast Ohio animal welfare organizations, will hold a one-of-a-kind, 24-hour adoption event from 5 p.m. Friday, September 7, through 5 p.m. Saturday, September 8. "Adopt Around the Clock," sponsored by PetSmart Charities, will take place at PetSmart's Parma location on 6870 Ridge Road.

The Cleveland APL and its partners hope to find new homes for more than 300 dogs, cats, and small mammals in just 24 hours. Participating organizations include: Berea Animal Rescue Friends, Canine Lifeline, the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter, the Geauga Humane Society's Rescue Village, Healing Hearts Ferret Rescue, Marilyn's Voice, the Medina County SPCA, the Public Animal Welfare Society of Ohio (PAWS), and Tails from the City.

"Adopt Around the Clock" will feature same-day adoptions, reduced adoption fees, entertainment, food trucks, contests, children's activities, and media and celebrity appearances. Hundreds of volunteers from the participating organizations will be available to help potential adopters find their perfect pet match!

"The Cleveland APL, with the support of PetSmart Charities, is so excited to partner with so many other wonderful, commited rescue groups and humane societies in this unique undertaking," says Sharon A. Harvey, President and CEO of the Cleveland APL. "Adopt Around The Clock will not only help many homeless animals who are in our care find loving homes, but it will also have a huge impact on raising awareness about adoption as an option that gives deserving animals and families their happy endings."
