CLEVELAND -- Through budget cuts, the Cleveland School District has cut nurses and eliminated social workers all together.

For nearly 40,000 students, there are only 24 school nurses, and most of those are stationed at schools with children who have major medical needs.

All social workers have been eliminated from the district. Instead, outside agencies serve students who meet certain qualifications, like having a diagnosis, parent permission and are Medicaid eligible.
