HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio --The Clowns and Helping Hands Ministry at St. Paschal Baylon Parish delivers hot meals, toiletries, clothing and blankets every Wednesday night to Cleveland's homeless.

The ministry began about a decade ago and with the volunteers' help, several people without homes or employment are finding their way back to their feet.

In addition to supplies, the volunteers come with advice on resources that can be useful to those who are homeless.

Bob Ukovic says despite their efforts, he predicts the ministry will always be needed.

"There's still some people who are so broken. They feel living on the street is all they're good for," said Ukovic.

Through word of mouth, volunteers have learned which bridges to look under, and which alleyways to stop by.

In turn, the homeless they help, have learned to trust the members of Clowns and Helping Hands Ministry.

"They just keep helping. They're beautiful people, who never give up on you," said Mary Ronning, formerly homeless.

The church can always take donations of items like toiletries, sweatshirts, shoes, socks and sleeping bags. For information on how to donate, click on the link on this page.
