Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - Flavien Davis scored 19 points to lift the Montana State Bobcats over the Eastern Washington Eagles, 70-68, in a Big Sky overtime thriller at the Worthington Arena.
Davis was 6-of-11 from the field for the Bobcats (5-7, 2-2 Big Sky), who won third consecutive game, all at home. Xavier Blount scored 14 points, Christian Moon added 12 points, and Calen Coleman tallied 11 off the bench. Paul Egwuonwu managed eight points with eight rebounds.
Jeffrey Forbes scored 18 points, knocking down four three-pointers, for Eastern Washington (3-11, 1-3), which lost its second in a row and fifth game in six tries. Kevin Winford scored 13 points and dished out six assists while Martin Seiferth netted 11 points. Venky Jois had a well-rounded performance with seven rebounds, six points, five assists, and two blocks.
The Eagles took a 37-29 lead into halftime after holding Montana State to just 27.3 percent shooting from the field in the first half.
In the second half the Bobcats battled all the way back outscoring the Eagles 35-27. Two clutch free-throws by Davis with 20 seconds left sent the game into overtime.
A missed layup by Daniel Hill as time expired left the Eagles behind by two points as they were outscored 6-4 in overtime.
Eastern Washington committed 20 turnovers throughout the game which led to 21 points for Montana State.
