CLEVELAND -- A neighbor was taken to the hospital after watching Cleveland firefighters put out a house fire on West 88th Street overnight.

The fire was reported in the 3400 block of W. 88th Street at around 12:20 a.m. Monday. The house was reportedly abandoned, Cleveland fire crews say.

Nobody was inside the home at the time.

The neighbor who was taken to the hospital was reportedly suffering from an unrelated condition triggered by excitement at the scene of the fire, an EMS official said.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from several blocks away, reports said.

Police say the property has a history of trouble with break-ins.
