Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Johnny Dee scored a game-high 17 points as the San Diego Toreros dismissed the Pepperdine Waves, 62-50, in West Coast Conference action at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Dee shot 4-of-9 from the field and 9-of-9 from the foul line for San Diego (10-8, 3-0 WCC), which has won a season-high four straight games. Ken Rancifer added 16 points for the visitors.
Stacy Davis and Lorne Jackson each tallied nine points for Pepperdine (9-8, 1-3), while Jackson added six assists and four steals.
Neither team shot well in the first half, with San Diego making just 37 percent of its field goal attempts and Pepperdine shooting 36.4 percent. The Toreros were able to take a 27-18 lead into intermission by draining three 3- pointers, while the Waves went without a long-range bucket in the half.
San Diego improved its field goal shooting to 45.5 percent after the break, and Pepperdine never got within six points of the lead.
Pepperdine was plagued by 18 turnovers, which turned into 26 San Diego points.
