BAY VILLAGE -- Bay Village police are trying to determine if there are additional victims of a former male church volunteer sentenced last month to prison on sex related charges involving a teenage boy.

Mark A. Lewis of Lakewood pleaded guilty to kidnapping and gross sexual imposition charges on December 11, 2012 and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Although the abuse happened when the victim was a teen, the victim, now an adult, only recently reported it to police.

Police arrested Lewis in July 2012 after an investigation that determined Lewis had taken advantage of his volunteer position with the Church of Latter-Day Saints and as a family friend of the victim. Police say the investigation revealed evidence of at least three other victims.

A search of Lewis' home during the investigation turned up a large number of photographs of teenage boys from the same time period-in some cases as far back as the late 1970s. Police suspect the photos may be those of boys Lewis also befriended in his position as church volunteer.

Police say they suspect there are other victims out there and encourage anyone who may have had contact with Lewis to contact Det. Kevin Krolkosky at the Bay Village Police Department, 440-871-1234.
