CLEVELAND - The American Meteor Societyconfirms a meteor passed over Ohioon Saturday night.

Saturday's sighting was reported about 6:50 p.m. EST and seen by observers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virgina and West Virginia.

This was the second night in a row that a meteor was seen over parts of Ohio and the Midwest. Friday's sighting around 8:45 p.m. appeared to point in the directionof northwest Ohio or southern lower Michigan.

Those who witnessed Saturday'smeteor say it was unusually low to the horizon and very bright.

Reports to theAmerican Meteor Societyindicate the meteor could havefallen to earth somewhere in southern Ohio or northern Kentucky.
