NEW FRANKLIN -- New Franklin police say the couple was discovered dead inside their home on a quiet street in the Portage Lakes area Tuesday in whatthey say is a double homicide.
Police have identified the victims, as Jeff Schobert, 56, and Margaret Schobert, 59.
About noonWednesday, policesent outinformation that they are looking for a black 2010 Mazda SUV, with the Ohio license number EYJ 6369. That car was taken from the Schobert's home.
At 4 p.m. Wednesday, police said they located the SUV on the west side of Akron but declined to give any further details.
The Summit County Medical Examiner tells Channel 3's John Anderson that the autopsies on the couple will not be finished until late Thursday or early Friday.
What happened inside this home on Rex Lake Drive in New Franklin has the entire town talking, even inside Marty Ferro's barbershop.
Marty says its shocking and affects everyone.
Police also say the couple's 18-year-old daughter, Chelsea, was beaten and stabbed over a week ago. While she recovers, police sayJamayne Ruiz, 24,is in jail, accused of that attack, but is not a suspect in the double homicide.
Jeff Schobert was a prominent lawyer for Hanna Campbell and Powell representing doctors and hospitals. Friends of the family tell WKYC the couple has two daughters.
Neighbors say the Schoberts are friendly people, often seen walking their dogs or working in the yard.
New Franklin Police say they were called to the home around 2:20p.m. Tuesdayafternoon after construction workers discovered the bodies inside the home. No word on how they died or when they may have been killed.
Authorities believe this is an isolated incident.
New Frankin police are in charge of the investigationbut asked for BCI to assist at the scene because the NFPD is a small department and doesn't have the resources.
