AKRON --- Defense attorneys for the last of the five Ohio bridge bomb-plotting suspects say he is competent to stand trial.
Attorneys for 23-year-old Joshua Stafford said in a court filing Wednesday that a forensic psychologist who examined him has found him mentally competent. The Plain Dealer says that psychologist is scheduled to testify at Stafford's competency hearing on April 15.
Previous court-ordered psych tests were inconclusive as to his competence.
No bomb went off and no one was hurt in the plot last year. The four other defendants have pleaded guilty and were sentenced to prison.
The intended target was a highway bridge over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park between Cleveland and Akron. The FBI said the device was a dud provided by an informant.
