Katowice, Poland (Sports Network) - Second seed Roberta Vinci was an easy quarterfinal winner Friday at the inaugural Katowice Open.
The Italian veteran vaulted past helpless Czech wild card Karolina Pliskova 6-1, 6-0 in 67 minutes on the indoor surface at Spodek.
Vinci will meet German Annika Beck in Saturday's semifinals. Beck topped Italian qualifier Maria Elena Camerin 7-6 (7-1), 6-0 on Day 5.
This week's champion will pocket $40,000.
