STRONGSVILLE -- The teachers union and the school board are meetingSunday with the federal mediator.

They both agreed to meet atthe Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service regional office in Independence.

At theschool boardmeeting Thursday night at the high school auditorium, the union -- the Strongsville Education Association -- had most of its members standing quietly outside.

WKYC was at the meeting and most of those who spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting supported the board and criticized the teachers.

The SEA has been on strike since March 4 and the school board held its last meeting Feb. 21. Three meetings between then and Thursday were cancelled.

A WKYC news crew was in Strongsville Friday morning and was told that the union will stop picketing today and not resume until after the Sunday meeting, if necessary, if no resolution to the strike is reached.
