LAKEWOOD -- Halloween may be six months away, but that's not stopping hundreds of zombies from stumbling into the streets this weekend.
More than 500 members of the walking dead are expected on Saturday to claw their way to Mahall's 20 Lanes on Madison Avenue.

But instead of trying to frighten people away, this bloody brood is hoping the community will gather to help scare up money and food for local charity at Old School Sinema's 11th Zombie Walk.
Zombies of all ages are encouraged to join in the undead extravaganza.
It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to participate. Organizers say each gory guest is simply asked to donate two canned or non-perishablefood itemsand $5.
The event begins at noon, the zombies are supposed to start the walk around 3 p.m.
Arrive early if you need makeup, which is available for a small fee.
Despite the dead theme, there will be plenty of life at the charity event with bowling and food. Sorry, no brains.
To date, Old School Sinema says it has raised more than 15,000 pounds of food through various zombie events in the last six years with more than 4,000 total undead attendees.
