TALLMADGE -- Police say a 5K color run, which has attracted thousands of participants to the Summit County Fairgrounds, has caused major traffic troubles.

The Tallmadge Police Department issued a press release Saturday morning saying theColor Vibe event has "caused a traffic issue, which is almost impossible to direct and control."

Authorities indicatepolice units have been working to keep traffic moving, but anticipate "long delays" until approximately 3 p.m.

Drivers are advised to avoid the North Avenue / Howe Road area as a result.

One person posted this onthe WKYCpage about the situation: "Crazy traffic!! No police to direct traffic at all!! There were 2 police in the fairgrounds directing people walking into the fairground! Made no sense! But fun event! Need more direction on the roads next time!"

Another posted this: "I live in a neighborhood by the fairgrounds. This morning was a nightmare! People parked on both sides of our streets, speeding thru our neighborhoods. We were virtual prisoners all morning. Whoever planned get an F-."
