Former Cuyahoga County Sheriff and Bedford City Manager and Police Chief Bob Reid has racked up endorsements from eight suburban mayors behind his campaign to become Cuyahoga County Executive.

Mayors of Bedford, Bentleyville, Berea, Broadview Heights, Brooklyn Heights, Brookpark. Glenwillow and Newburgh Heights are suppording his candidacy.

Reid claims he has the most managerial and administrative experience of any of the proclaimed or speculated candidates running for the job.

He claims 35 of his 38 years in public service have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

The new county executive will manage about 5,000 workers and a budget bigger than that of several states.

State Representative Armond Budish and State Senator Shirley Smith have also declared they are running.

County Council President C. Ellen Connally and Cleveland School Board Member Eric Wobser are considering a possible run.

The Executive's job is up for grabs because County Executive Ed FitzGerald is running for Governor.

The election would be in November 2014.

FitzGerald has endorsed Budish. He fired Reid.
