CLEVELAND -- Well it's that time of year again...the midges are back!
Nearly everywhere you go outside, you can spot swarms of the small insects around Cleveland.
While midges, or Canadian soldiers, are harmless, that doesn't make them any less annoying for people trying to enjoy the outdoors.
"If you live by the lake, they're everywhere. They cover the houses, they'll cover your windows, they'll cover your car," said one Indians fan in downtown Clevland Friday night.
"They irritate me, they make me start itching or whatever so I don't like em," said another woman, walking downtown.
Midges only have a life span of five to ten days, but they are a good sign that Lake Erie is healthy.
They are also a good source of food for freshwater fish.
