NIMISHILLEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that trapped a woman underneath a car.

The accident happened overnight Sunday around 1:51 a.m on Columbus Road just east of Paris Avenue.

Bruno Lindo, 24, was headed east on Columbus Road when he lost control and went off the side of the road. The Ford Explorer came back on the road and overturned.

The passenger, Lindsay Costa, 22, was thrown from the SUV and was trapped under the car.

Fire rescue crews responded to the scene and were able to free Costa. She suffered a serious injury to her leg and was taken to Aultman Hospital for treatment.

Lindo was also transported to Aultman Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Troopers believe alcohol may have affected the driver's ability to safely drive. The crash is still under investigation.
