UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- John Carroll University in University Heights is ranked among the top 10 universities in the midwestern United States, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
The report, released Tuesday, not only ranks JCU number 7 overall among midwest universities, but it also ranks the university number 5 for best value schools in the midwest.
Only Xavier University ranked higher (4th)than John Carroll among Ohio universities, but JCU was unmatched in Ohio in the value category.
To justify value, U.S. News & World Report claims 74.8 percent of students attending John Carroll receive need-based grants. On top of that, the average cost of attendance after receiving those need-based grants total $25,009.
Berea's Baldwin Wallace University also made the value list, ranking number 12 on the 15-school list. It also ranked 17th on the overall best midwest universities list.
Canton's Malone University moved up 18 spots this year, tied for 42nd on the list of the best midwest universities.
