Three Westlake boys got the surprise of a lifetime Friday from their favorite superhero, their dad!
For the past six months Captain Jason Dancy has been overseas serving in Afghanistan.
Before his deployment he tried to explain his job to his four year old son Nate, "the only thing he would understand was that we were going to Afghanistan to fight bad guys so he would always say 'Daddy's a superhero."
Nate's affinity for superhero's prompted a very special surprise homecoming for Captain Dancy, planned by a local company called Unite This City in conjunction with the Westlake police department and other community members.
Captain Dancy's sons Jackson, Nate, and Ryan were told they were being brought to the police department for a meet and greet with superheroes including Captain America, Wonder Woman, and the Hulk among others.
Meanwhile the greatest hero of them all, their dad, was hiding around the corner.
"Daddy!!! You came!!! I missed you I don't want you to go again," exclaimed 5 year old Jackson upon seeing his Dad. "Who's your number one super hero buddy?...Daddy," said 4 year old Nate after embracing his father.
"To come back and hear that, I guess it kind of validates what we're doing and what kind of example we're trying to give our kids," said Captain Dancy.
