CLEVELAND -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the fight continues in finding a cure against the sometimes deadly disease.

Nationwide, nearly 300 Making Strides walks occur each year. The walks are held each year to inspire, empower, and encourage women to get checked for breast.

We spoke with Kathy Balazs, a two-time Cancer survivor, who says "I think it's one of the greatest events that brings people together you have a real camaraderie. We had a survivor walk, where everyone told how many years they've been survivor. It's an emotional event and it's a time to raise money to find a cure."

The American Cancer Society hopes to raise over $200,000 at today's event.
