ODOT crews have been working around the clock to make sure all major roadways are clear throughout the evening and Friday morning commute.
At midnight, a new wave of 45 trucks will hit the road in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga counties to spread salt and monitor problem areas like bridge decks and overpasses.
While ODOT officials could not confirm if any accidents were weather-related Thursday, Richard Daley, who uses I-271 to get to work, says he witnessed two.
"I was late for work this morning there was a couple spin-outs on the freeway...it was pretty bad," recalled Daley.
"It was awful. I couldn't drive in it," said Alisa Sapanaro, of Chesterland.
However other drivers observed clearer conditions during the Thursday evening commute.
"I saw a lot of salt trucks out so that's positive," said Beth Ciarlillo. "Who prepares for this before November? It is what it is. We're Northeast Ohio."
