This week was a special week that honored the year 'round pro bono work by attorneys across the nation.

"Pro bono" is when attorneys offer their services for free.

There were thousands of eventsnationwide. Here to talk about pro bono work in Northeast Ohio is Judge Joan Synenberg.

In Northeast Ohio, the celebration included Legal Aid, numerous bar associations, the judiciary, community based organizations and volunteer attorneys.

In Northeast Ohio, the week's calendar included numerous clinics, volunteer recognition events and continuing legal education presentations.

The Northeast Ohioevents encompassed Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Lorain and Ashtabula counties.

Pro bono work is for those who need help in civil matters, like foreclosure, bankruptcy, wills, estates and child support.

If you need legal assistance, you can contact Legal Aid any weekday for help. Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
