Dots, the women's clothing and accessories retailer, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The company says it intends to restructure. Dots, based in Cuyahoga County, operates about 400 stores in 28 states.

According to Crain's, as part of its filing, the company said it has determined that 36 of its stores will be closed. It's not known if any of Ohio's stores will be impacted by the closures.
