AKRON -- Police are investigating an overnight explosion on McKinley Avenue.

Fire officials say an M-80 firecracker-type device was placed between a screen door and entry door of the house around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

When thedevice exploded, the front door blew into the living room of the home.

The house was occupied at the time, but nobody was hurt.

Investigators were dispatched to the home to search the area for secondary devices. None were found.

The arson unit of the Akron Fire Department is handling the ongoing investigation.
