John Anderson returned to WKYC Channel 3 in October, 2012 after working five years in Philadelphia, PA. You may remember John from the first time he was here. He anchored the Channel 3 Morning show for seven years from 2000-2007. John and his family are excited to once again call the Cleveland area home.
Before his return, John was the morning news anchor at the FOX station in Philadelphia. He spent his final year there as the nightly sports anchor. In addition, he also hosted the station's pregame and postgame shows for the Eagles and Phillies. During his time in Philadelphia, John covered numerous major sports stories, including the Phillies 2008 and 2009 World Series, the Flyers run to the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and Villanova's trip to the Final Four.
While John was in Cleveland the first time, he also served on the board for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and was honored as National Media Person of the Year during that time. John was also part of a cycling team that raised money in the fight against blood cancers. The organization is called Team in Training (www.teamintraining.org) and John and his teammates raised over $1.5 million dollars. John has finished 11 century rides of over 100 miles. Among the highlights, John rode from Seattle to Portland (206 miles) and from Cleveland to Cincinnati (288 miles). The Ohio ride was for the American Cancer Society.
Before working in Cleveland, John has also worked in Omaha, Minneapolis, Grand Forks, ND and two spots in Wisconsin, Eau Claire and La Crosse.
