CLEVELAND -- People gathered in Cleveland to rally in support of opposition forces in Ukraine.

Ohio Citizens for a Democratic and Free Ukraine held a rally and protest in front of Cleveland City Hall on Friday. Members are protesting the torturing and killing of Ukraine citizens who are protesting against that country's government.

The group wants the US to join the EU and Canada in seeking personal sanctions against Ukraine's president.

Today, Ukraine announced it and the opposition had agreed to a deal to end violence. The deal calls for protesters to be given amnesty and restores a previous constitution that limits presidential powers. The three-month old crisis exploded earlier this week into deadly clashes.

The US is praising the deal but says it will monitor to be certain action is taken to implement it.

More rallies in support of Ukraine opposition are planned for tomorrow in Ohio.
