Kristin Anderson rejoined the WKYC news team in October of 2013 and reports for the 6 & 7 PM newscasts.
Kristin brings 15 years of broadcasting experience from all around the country to WKYC. Kristin began her career in La Crosse, WI and later moved to Green Bay, WI before following her husband, John Anderson, to Omaha, NE. Together Kristin and John joined WKYC in 2000. After leaving for Philadelphia in 2007, they returned home to Cleveland.
Kristin and John were featured in the book Cleveland Couples and voted 'Most Interesting Couple' in Cleveland Magazine. Kristin won an Associated Press Award for Best Spot News Reporting for flooding coverage. Kristin helped author the book, Faces of Freedom: Profiles of America's Fallen Heroes and spotlighted Lance Cpl. Brian Montgomery from Willoughby who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2005.
Kristin holds a B.S in Broadcasting from Northwestern College in Minnesota and a Master's Degree in Communication Studies from West Chester University. She wrote her thesis on the partnership between the media and law enforcement to create the first Fugitive Safe Surrender program in Cleveland, which evolved into a nationwide program.
Kristin is passionate about guiding upcoming journalists. and has taught as an adjunct professor and lecturer at West Chester University, Lincoln University and Kent State University.
