MADISON VILLAGE -- Residents throughout the city of Madison are cleaning up from a flash flood. Severe weather swept through Lake County late Wednesday.

Officials are warning residents to keep an eye on water levels that are near their property. For many overnight, this round of severe weather is like deja-vu. Residents began cleaning up flooded basements carried in by heavy rain and trying to salvage what they could.

A temporary shelter was set-up by the city at Madison Village Hall for residents who needed to evacuate their homes.

Sources say much of the water began to recede throughout the morning.
