EUCLID -- Police are investigating the shooting death of resident Chenard W. Treadwell, 26.

Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call of shots fired and a man down near 27400 Tremaine Drive, which is an apartment complex on the city's eastside.

Police arrived and found Treadwell lying on the ground, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Treadwell was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

Earlier that evening, police investigated shots fired about 9 p.m. in the area of Voelker Avenue and Babbitt Road.

An occupied vehicle was parked near the intersection. A suspect vehicle, described as possibly being a black Kia SUV, drove close to the parked vehicle and unknown suspect(s) from inside the Kia opened fire on the parked vehicle, striking it with bullets.

The occupant was not injured and the suspects fled the area in the SUV. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

At this time, police have no information linking these two incidents.
