SOUTH EUCLID -- Just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the Walmart after store security had detained a man, later identified as Verbon L. Polk, 59, of East Cleveland,.
Security told police that Polk had been caught on the store's video surveillance cameras on Dec. 4 loading a 60-inch, $488 Sanyo TV into a beige Pontiac minivan in the parking lot and had not paid for the TV.
When Polk returned to the store Wednesday, he was recognized and detained.
Police charged Polk with theft for the Dec. 4 incident and also given a warning for criminal trespassing at WalMart.
Police noted that Polk had a lengthy arrest record for theft, larceny and other similar crimes and that this was his 73rd arrest.
