ELYRIA -- A northeast Ohio man who dropped his wife out of a second-floor window during an argument and then fatally stabbed her with a combat knife has been sentenced to life in prison.
A judge in Elyria sentenced former Lorain County Corrections officer William Dembie Jr. on Monday in the August 2011 slaying of his 33-year-old wife, Holly. He was convicted of murder, felonious assault and domestic violence earlier this month.
The (Elyria) Chronicle-Telegram (http://bit.ly/1fjdDRm ) reports that a member of the woman's family charged the 45-year-old Dembie in the courtroom Monday and had to be restrained.
Prosecutors said Dembie went after his wife with a knife, then dropped her out a window when she tried to escape.
He went outside and repeatedly stabbed her before calling to report he had almost beheaded her.
