Mentor Police are looking for leads in seven different car break-ins over the weekend.

MENTOR - Mentor Police are looking for information about a rash of car break-ins over the weekend.

Seven separate incidents occurred between Friday evening and Saturday evening -- two on Friday and five on Saturday. The break-ins happened between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. each night.

Most of the incidents occurred in restaurant parking lots along Mentor Avenue, towards the south end of the city.

Some cars were unlocked, while others had their windows smashed. Stolen items include a computer, purses and wallets.

Police are cautioning residents to lock cars doors when parking and to secure any valuables in the car trunk or out of site.

A surveillance camera may have caught the perpetrators, and police are working on obtaining and releasing the video.
