ALLIANCE -- On Tuesday afternoon, the Alliance Police Department conducted a warrant sweep and arrested 40 people -- almost all were charged with drug trafficking offenses.
The warrant sweep was completed by separate investigations, which were all part of Alliance Police Chief Scott Griffith and the police department's continued campaign against drug trafficking in the city of Alliance.
All those arrested were booked at Alliance City Jail and then taken to Stark County Jail.
39 of those individuals arrested will be arraigned in Alliance Municipal Court on Wednesday.
The Alliance Police Department was assisted by the Ohio Department of Parole officers in the warrant sweep.
