AKRON -- Police say that just after 11 p.m. Friday, a 47-year-old woman reported that she was driving on Interstate 77 northbound at East Avenue.

She stated that she had two of her grandchildren, an 8-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, in the back seat.

The victim heard four gunshots and then her grandson, 3, started crying. She pulled her vehicle off to the side of the road and noticed that her grandson was bleeding from his right leg.

The boy was taken to Akron Children's Hospital where his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The shooting appears to stem from an on-going feud, police said.

The suspect(s) vehicle is a four-door, tan or cream colored Ford Taurus or Toyota Camry.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Akron police.
