CLEVELAND -- Police are still on the scene of a west side building suspected of housing a marijuana growing operation.

Firefighters and police were called to the scene in the 10400 block of Joan Avenue Tuesday evening for a fire on the second floor.

Police say a man at the site was treated for burns as a result of the fire. Police say the man has not been arrested due to his injuries but the case against him will be taken to a grand jury. His name is not being released.

The Cleveland Police Bomb Unit went through the building to make sure it was safe for entry. Vice officers then obtained a warrant and began a search of the location. Police say marijuana growing tools, lights and other evidence have been removed from the building.

A fire department spokesman says pot plants were inside the room where the fire occurred.
