A man wanted for fleeing a prostitution sting and attempting to run over a police officer has turned himself in.

Dwayne T. Fair Jr. turned himself in just after 4 p.m. today at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office, according to authorities.

He was wanted for attempted murder of a police officer, felonious assault on a police officer, promoting prostitution and human trafficking.

Cuyahoga County sheriff's deputies attempted to stop Dwayne Fair the night of Jan. 23. According to the Sheriff's Office, one prostitute was arrested in the sting. They described Fair as a pimp.

When deputies attempted to stop him, he disregarded them, attempting to run over law enforcement present at the scene, according to the FBI.

During the incident, Fair also threatened to kill deputies. Deputies confirmed that they fired shots at Fair's car, but it's unclear if he was injured.

When Fair fled, it was one year ago to the day that he was caught up in a separate but nearly identically run sting by Cuyahoga County.

That time he fled police, running into a K-9 vehicle before escaping arrest. He would later be caught and convicted and put on five years probation.

Cuyahoga County Sheriff Frank Bova would like to thank the Independence Police Department, FBI and public for their help with the case.
