Jaquan Townsend was found guilty of aggravated robbery, felonious assault and assault Wednesday

AKRON -- A 20-year-old Cleveland man has been sentenced to five years in prison for the assault of a juvenile last summer.

According to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh, Judge Tammy O'Brien delivered the sentence to Jaquan Townsend.

Townsend was found guilty of aggravated robbery, felonious assault and assault Wednesday.

According to Walsh, Townsend assaulted the juvenile at Greenwood Village Park in Sagamore Hills Township in July 2013. Townsend is accused of kicking the juvenile in the face, knocking him unconscious and breaking both sides of his jaw and his orbital bones.

Townsend and a friend fled after stealing some marijuana from a companion of the victim.

The juvenile was taken to the Sagamore Hills emergency department and then the Cleveland Clinic.
