Fight over changing seats ends in physical assault
CLEVELAND -- An RTA bus driver was assaulted by a passenger on Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened on the #30 bus around 12:30 p.m. near East 156th St. and Lakeshore Blvd.
According to an RTA spokesman, a customer refused to change seats in order accommodate a woman with a stroller.
An argument broke out, and the bus driver was assaulted during the scuffle.
The driver was not injured enough to require an ambulance.
The suspect left the bus before Transit Police arrived, but he is described as a heavy-set African-American male.
The driver and the bus were both taken out of service for the rest of the day.
Bus travel is not affected.
Transit police are still investgating.
